Many thanks for posting this article, and for the inspiration it provides. As a person who lives in the Middle East, I must add that it continues to baffle me how a vast number of women continue to condone such criminal behavior. Would love to have you visit my recently founded blog, for similar topics of interest: http://ninasmideastjournals.blogspot.com/

Wow-hlow, thank you, I am elated by the words of my ne-to'-mer, my friend, my relative, Junie.

"First I SANG MY WAR SONG… then said:
I am Junie Mattice, a citizen of Tolowa Nation and of the United States , and I have no Human Rights. Why a war song? For our husbands, brothers and sons who have lost their path, for battered women and abused children. All of you, everyone has a healing song passed down by your ancestors."

We can all be that warrior. Stand up for what you believe in--in a good way by your voice or actions. Me, I am a prayer warrior. It does not matter who taught you how to pray, just as long as you pray. Humans are the only ones who can pray for the beings that cannot pray, be they the trees and plants, the four legged ones, the winged ones, the finned ones, or the very old and very young humans. There is a lot of knowledge though out the world. There have been and are many ascended beings in the many societies in the world to be inspired by, and to emulate in a good way.

What if this notion is the pivotal, paramount. That is not man's ascension, but MOTHER EARTH'S ASCENSION. One of the messages indigenous first nations of Turtle Island, the Americas has to bring forward in a most forceful way is that we are the children of Mother Earth. Our life blood, the water, has been separated and purified by Mother Earth's methods for eons. In the Sierra Park lands in eastern California extremely hot water bubbles up and pools no more than two feet away from pristine spring water. Phenomenal.

We humans are at war with Mother Earth. We allow the destruction of the many ecosystems, the extinction of species and the pollution of land, air and water. In the mid 1990's Muckwa Mishsomish, Bear Grandfather, a Cree Indian from Canada just north of the Dakotas, was traveling in a large circle counter clockwise. From eastern Canada west to the Pacific coast, he stayed with the Lummi in Washington. I met him in northern California before he went south to the Bear Dance were they put the bears to sleep for the winter. How fitting! He was then to travel across the southwest, up along the eastern seaboard to make a complete circle in preparations to create a medicine wheel in the middle of the United States.

WESAW, World Water Ecosystem Awareness Walk was the mission Muckwa Mishsomish was on for the Indians of the northeast woodlands. He talked of how the water was most important, how rivers were watersheds with unique ecosystems to every tributary and how rain would fall on the plains or in the rainforest, then evaporate, travel in a cloud and fall to earth miles away. Connectivity. Everything is connected. Deep ecology is felt, remembered, imbedded into the various indigenouse societies' psychic, mores and ceremonies.

Like Junie says, ". . .everyone has a healing song passed down by your ancestors." Your song is your prayer. Up lift your voice, take courage in what you do. Believe in your prayer, be empowered by the knowledge Creator already knows what is in your heart

This is the first time I've seen this and it reminds me of another post i read yesterday. It's shorter than this one, not quite as eloquent, yet echoes the same sentiment. It's title is "Really, How Much Longer?" The first line says: "I despair for this country...." I think I like this title best: UTTER MADNESS, though the "how much longer" question raises the possibility that things may have gone "beyond" our making a turn in a different direction. I don't believe the madness has taken us "beyond" yet I am amazed, chagrined, and alarmed that so many people don't see the big picture. Unless everyone in this country understands how all of our systems are connected - and therefore, all of our citizens are connected - then it not only may go on, but get WORSE. I BELIEVE THAT IF ENOUGH PEOPLE say: "STOP THE MADNESS" and JOIN TOGETHER as they are doing in places like Wisconsin that we can stop this downward spiral. Whenever I think about the greatness that underlies the vision upon which this country was founded, I think "We the People..." And it's up to US to say "no" to the madness and get involved at whatever level, in whatever way, and join in those circles of people who WILL NOT GIVE IN TO DESPAIR. ACTION BY EACH OF US, if done on behalf of the GOOD OF THE WHOLE, will turn us around. We really don't have a whole lot of time...
